Changed by God's Word
In the beginning, God spoke the world into existence and to this day he continues to “uphold the universe by the word of his power" (Hebrews 1:3).
In other words, God’s word is so powerful that when he speaks planets come into existence, birds fly, and humans breathe. In fact, the entire creation continues to exist because of God’s powerful word. These are awesome thoughts to think about.
A Quiver Full of Arrows
“Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth.” – Psalm 127:4
Just what does the Bible mean by this verse? Are children like weapons that we unleash on our enemies? While it might be tempting to think this way, I don’t think this is what is meant.
Instead, this scripture is referring to children of Christian parents who train their children to fulfill their purpose.
Positive Pencils
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been handing out pencils to students “caught being good.” The students that I give them to aren’t necessarily being “perfect” but they are trying hard to do what is right and I can tell by their smiles that they feel appreciated.
