Principal Notes

It’s been a great year!
Well, we’re almost done with another school year, and it’s been a good one. Our students have been challenged in many ways both academically and spiritually, and they have grown tremendously.
You made a commitment to provide a Christian education for your children at the beginning of this year and I want to commend you. I know it hasn’t always been easy, and many of us have felt pressure to seek an easier alternative. But rest assured, your child’s faith has been strengthened and his understanding of Christ’s love has grown.
Day of Prayer
Since this coming Thursday, May 1st, is the National Day of Prayer, last Friday’s Chapel message was on the topic of prayer. I encouraged the students to pray not just in public but also in private and that a good way to pray is to acknowledge the attributes of God mentioned in Psalm 28:7.
The following is an outline of the message which, if studied, could help enrich your prayer time this week.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped” (Psalm 28:7).
Service Projects Underway
Last month I asked our teachers to plan a couple service projects for our students to participate in and they’ve come up with some great ideas.
Here’s a list of what each grade is planning:
K3: Collect food for the Salvation Army and then take the students on a field trip so that they can deliver it personally
K4: Encourage the students to do chores at home to earn money for purchasing food for Hope Harbor from Skagway
K5: Draw pictures for a nursing home and serve as “trash patrol” for the school
