FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Grand Island Christian School To Host 6th Annual Soup Supper
GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska (January 15, 2008) - Grand Island Christian School (GICS) will be sponsoring its 6th annual soup supper on January 30.  The soup supper is open to the public and a free-will offering will be collected. “The most important reason for the supper,” according to principal Salcedo, “is to provide an opportunity to get to know our neighbors.”

“Everyone is invited to an evening of fellowship and good food.  We think Grand Island is a great place to live and we’re proud to be a part of this community,” Salcedo said.

Organized by parent volunteers, this year’s soup supper will feature corn chowder, chili, chicken noodle soup, corn bread and cinnamon rolls.  For entertainment, the school plans to show a slideshow of students, volunteers, and school events, both past and present.

Soup will be served Friday, January 30, starting at 4:30 and lasting until 7:30 pm.

Established in 1979, Grand Island Christian School is a non-denominational school representing more than 12 local churches.  It is located at the corner of State and Broadwell, commonly referred to as 5-points.  You can find out more about GICS by visiting their website at www.gichristian.org.
